Shylock loves his daughter .. But he has a equal(Maybe more )attraction to his wealth. Jessica also loved her daddy ... But due to his lowly character she fails to compromise with him . She knows it is a sin yet she says that ' I wish I hadn't been his child' . When Antonio rails at Shylock just because he takes interest for his loans... Shylock breaks into passionate exclamation against religious discrimination of the jews . Here we sympathize with Shylock. But we do not have any reason to pity Jessica because she has a proud and vain attitude towards her father.
