The relative deprivation is a theory where we under the situation by comparing from surroundings. We think that we are supposed to get certain type of subsidy or help /relief fund from government but we couldn’t get that.

We compare our condition by our peers or others who are with us. So in such a way everyone is poor than another one, which is not the right criterion. When we just feel that this thing should be with us like particular parson own it then it comes under Relative Deprivation Approach to the understanding of poverty. It’s a relative poverty where everyone have basic amenities of life like food , water shelter & cloths but we keep on comparing each other on behalf of each other’s monitory value then definitely one will be poorer than other one . In such scenario everyone think that they are poor but actually they are not. It’s just relative poverty !!
