Civil disobedience is the active, professed refusal of a citizen to obey certain laws of the state, and/or demands, orders, and commands of a government, or of an occupying international power. Civil disobedience is sometimes defined as having to be nonviolent to be called civil disobedience.

the results and events of civil disobedience are:

◆ it helped to strengthen the national movement.
◆ although the partition was less the movement came out to be a success.
◆ it made women come out of their houses and protest against the harsh policies of government.
◆people started to learn the true meaning of fighting for rights by the use of non-violence.
◆ it involved the ideas of non-cooperation movement but also breaking down the law of paying taxes on activities such as salt manufacturing, imports , exports etc.
◆ people realized that british could be driven out of country without violence and following the ideas of mahatma gandhi.
◆ this was movement which opened the eyes of indians who struggled to establish independent india.
