These forces cause physical stress and effect chemical reactions, thereby changing the configuration of the Earth's surface. They are thus called 'geomorphic processes'. Exogenic forces: i) Exogenic forces wear down (erode) relief/elevations and fill up (aggrade) basins/depressions.
