Using fertilizer in rice crops is essential to keep them from crop disease and also it helps in increasing the yield. Seeds has to be treated before sowing, so that it gain resistance towards seedling disease like blasts.

Nutrients essential for healthy growth of crops should be available in the soil. Soil has to be checked for availability of essential nutrients. In case it shows any deficiency add those nutrients before sowing by using fertilizer. Adding fertilizer may increase yield but using excessive fertilizer can damage the soil's fertility and reduce the yield.
