1. w ghats lie parallel to the western coast.
2. they are continuous and can be crossed through passes only.
3.the highest peaks include the AnaiMudi (2695 m) and the Doda Betta (2637 m)
Also, w ghats are higher than the e ghats. their average elevation is around 900-1600 m as against 600 m of the e ghats.
Eastern ghats:
1. they stretch from Mahanadi valley to the Nilgiris in South.
2. they are discontinuous and irregular and dissected by rivers draining into the Bay of Bengal.
3. Mahendragiri (1501 m) is the Highest peak in the e ghats.
