Legumes are widely available in cultivated and uncultivated lands. In order to continue their progeny, their seeds are dispersed in different ways. Most of them are dispersed through the pod rapture mechanism that then throws the seeds a short distance away from the mother plant. They can also be dispersed by animals like humans where they are carried away and planted far away from the mother plant

Legumes normally disperse through the explosion of their pods. The legumes dry up and wrap around the seeds tightly. The pod then explodes shooting the seeds around. The seed will then germinate around the parent plant. The process continues until the legume plant has proliferated the area.
