In a suspension solid particles are dispersed
in a liquid; a colloidal suspension is one in which the size of the
particles lies in the colloidal range. In an emulsion liquid droplets
and/or liquid crystals are dispersed in a liquid. In emulsions the droplets often exceed the usual limits for colloids in size.
