the place near the mountains is a lot cooler than the place which is far away from mountain. also the place near the mountain receive much rainfall.

Yes .. distance from mountain affect the climate.The climate of the places near mountain are cooler than the places which are not near the mountains.The places near mountain receive more rainfall than the other place.
