the area near the sea or an oceans is cooler than the areas farther. the temperature of a place is not just depended on the distance from the sea, but also distance from the equator, altitudes prevailing wind slopes etc. the winds coming through the water bodies is cool. the area near the sea receives a oceanic type of climate. the main reason the region is cool because where there is a sea, there is a process of evaporation and condensation.

when warm air from the inland areas meets the cool sea air, moisture and droplets form fog which is far less common further from the sea. distance from the sea is a factor in the overall climate due to the ocean currents, which are caused by the winds that blow over from the surface of the ocean.
