Autotroph vs. HeterotrophAutotrophs are organisms that can produce their own food from the substances available in their surroundings using light (photosynthesis) or chemical energy (chemosynthesis). Heterotrophs cannot synthesize their own food and rely on other organisms — both plants and animals — for nutrition.

1.Autotroph(self nourishing) are the organisms which make their own food by the process of photosynthesis.
2.Heterotroph(differently nourished) are the organisms which depend on other organisms for food. They are without chlorophyll.
