The difference among the afferent and efferent type of neurons is -
In the afferent type of neuron, we can observe that this neuron transmits the impulses of nerve or the information towards the brain. It may also transmit those information towards the spinal cord.
In the efferent type of neuron, it can be observed that impulses or signal are transmitted from brain as well as spinal cord to the effector kind of organs such as glands or the muscles.

Difference between afferent neurons and efferent neurons:
Afferent neurons:
- Afferent neurons are originated in the different parts or organs and end in the "central nervous system", they carry sensory impulse hence they are also called sensory neurons.
- This neuron carries the signal to the spinal code and brain.
- It has a single short axon and long dendrite.
- The shape of afferent neurons is rounded and smooth.
Efferent neurons:
- Efferent neurons are originated in the "central nervous system" and carrying the motor impulse to the different peripheral parts and different visceral organs of the body and thus it is also called as a motor neuron.
- This neurons receiving the information form the nerves system and transmitting to the body such as gland, muscles, etc.
- It has several dendrites and single long axon.
- The shape of efferent neurons is satellite shaped.
