The two terms angular dispersion as well as the dispersive power are two words that are very closely related yet are very different from each other.
Angular dispersion:
- When two light rays of different colours are being passed through a material then instead of continuing with the same angle.
- There is a slide deviation that is seen in both lights angle. This deviation that both the light rays are experiencing is angular dispersion.
Dispersive power:
- It is the ability of the material to separate or disperse the single light ray travelling through it into different colours.
