distinguish between committee and conference
Answers
Answer:
Well, both of them tend to involve trying to stay awake through ramblings of long winded academics, where everyone has great plans but nothing really gets done. Aside from that, conferences are typically once-a-year multi-day events that take place elsewhere (often in destination spots like Waikiki, Orlando, or various European cities) while committees are usually recurring meetings that occur on campus and are focused on a specific administrative issue such as accreditation preparation, assurance of learning compliance.
Also, professors usually have a lot of both of these on their CVs. While both take away from the primary duties of teaching and grading, conferences are used to show off one’s research and committee work is usually considered as part of one’s required “service” towards tenure and/or promotion.
Conferences generally happen once a year or twice but the committee takes place monthly and it is recurring in nature.
- Committee monitor the ongoing governmental operation to identify issue suitable for legislative view.
- Conferences are used to bring together people with a common interest and discuss ideas relating to a specific topic.
