if the bodies regain their shapes completely then KE remain conserved just before and just after the collision this is called elastic collision
if the bodiesnot regain their shapes completely then KE not remain conserved just before and just after the collision this is called inelastic collision

It will not bounce up. The primary difference between, elastic and inelastic collisions is, in elastic collision, kinetic energy is conserved and in inelastic collisions, kinetic energy is not conserved. But in both elastic and inelastic collisions, momentum is conserved.
