The equation for saponification reaction is CH3COOC2H5 → (on treatment with sodium hydroxide) C2H5OH + CH3COONa

Esterification reaction: when ethanoic acid is treated with ethanol in the presence of concentrated sulphuric acid,then a sweet smelling compound is formed called an ester .
CH3COOH+C2H5OH------------(H2SO4) CH3COOC2H5+H2O

Saponification reaction is converse of esterification reaction in the presence of sodium hydroxide, then we will get back ethanoic acid and ethanol separately.
CH3COOC2H5---------(NaOH) CH3COOH+C2H5OH.
