The Reaction b/w Alcohol and carboxylic acid to form ester is known as esterification.

The hydrolysis of Fat and Oil with Alkalis to form soap is known as Saponification.

a chemical reaction in which alcohol react with carboxylic acid to produce Ester this Chemical reaction is called esterification reaction

C2H4OH + CH3COOH = CH3COOH C2H4

a chemical reaction in which Ester react with acid or base to produce alcohol and soap

CH3COOC2H5 +NaOH = CH3COONa + C2H5OH
