Distinguish between Ferrous chloride and ferric chloride by using Sodium hydroxide solution.[ Observation based]

Answer:

A dirty green precipitate is obtained which confirms the presence of iron (II) chloride. Iron (IK) chloride is also dissolved in water and then sodium hydroxide solution is added. A reddish brown precipitate is obtained, which confirms the presence of iron (HI) chloride
