There are two basic differences between Fibrous joints and cartilaginous joints.
Fibrous Joints are joined together with the help of connective tissue which is quite dense and therefore does not allow for much movement.
As a matter of fact, most fibrous joints offer virtually no movement such as the bones of the skull which have the sutures connecting them.
On the contrary, the Cartilaginous joints are connected together with the help of cartilage which allows for flexibility and movement.
