Net sown area: The area which has been sown
Gross crop area: The sum of areas previously sown + any currently sown field.
So, for example if you have a 1 acre field, you have a net sown area of 1 acre (if and when it is sown).
If it is sown 3 times in a year, then you have a gross crop area of 3 acres, which might cover the spring/summer sowing and maybe the _current_ autumn sowing .. or something like that.

Hieeee....
= Gross Cropped Area (GCA) is the total area sown once as well as more than once in a particular year. When the crop is sown on a piece of land for twice, the area is counted twice in GCA. On the other hand, Net Sown Area is the area sown with crops but is counted only once.✌️
