Hi dude....♥♥♥

INTRACELLULAR DIGESTION:

1. There digestion of food occurs within the cell.
2. Digestive enzymes are secreted by the surrounding cytoplasm into the food vacuole.
3. Digestive products are diffused into the cytoplasm.
4. It is a less efficient method.
5. It occurs in unicellular organisms.

EXTRACELLULAR DIGESTION:
1. The digestion occurs outside the cell in the cavity of alimentary canal.
2. Digestive enzymes are secreted by special cells into the cavity of alimentary canal.
3. Digestive products diffuse across the intestinal wall into various parts of the body.
4.It is a more efficient method of digestion.
5.It occurs in multicellular organisms.

HOPE THIS HELPS.....

Dear Student,

◆ Intracellular digestion Vs Extracellular digestion -

  • Intracellular digestion takes place inside the cell (in food vacuole) while extracellular digestion takes place outside the cell (in alimentary canal).
  • Intracellular digestion is less efficient while extracellular digestion is more efficient.
  • Organisms take food by endocytosis in intracellular digestion while they take food by ingestion in extracellular digestion.
  • Vesicles are involved in intracellular digestion while organs & glands are involved in extracellular digestion.
  • Unicellular organisms have intracellular digestion while multicellular organisms have extracellular digestion.

Thanks dear. Hope this helps you...
