- When NH4OH is added to zinc nitrate, double precipitation reaction occurs giving white ppt of ammonium nitrate.
Zn(NO3)2 + 2NH4OH → Zn(OH)2 + (NH4)2NO3
- When NH4OH is added to lead nitrate, no change is observed.
Pb(NO3)2 + NH4OH → NO REACTION
