LONGITUDINAL Waves
1)when we push the slinky compression (no. Of turns and more or closer) and rarefaction (no. Of turns less or farther) are formed.
2)the direction of vibration of the particles is parallel to the direction of wave.
TRANSVERSE Waves
1)in a transverse wave particles of the medium vibrate up and down at right angles to the direction of wave
2)light wave are transverse waves but they do not need a material medium for propagation.
