Distinguish between Manganese dioxide and copper (II) oxide using conc. HCl

Answer:

Manganese dioxide is an oxidizing agent whereas copper oxide is not an oxidising agent. Secondly when concentrated hydrochloric acid reacts with manganese dioxide,chlorine gas is obtained but there is no formation of chlorine in case of copper oxide.
