Distinguish between mid term elections and by elections

MID TERM ELECTION :- When elections are held much before the schedule , it is considered as mid term election . The President can dissolve Lok Sabha and call a general election before five years are up , if the govt . can no longer command the confidence of Lok Sabha , and if there is no alternative govr. to take over .
BY-ELECTION :- A special election to fill vancant elective position with a n unexpired term due to demise or resignation of the occupant .
