Biogas: Cow dung ,various plant material like the residue after harvesting the crops, vegetable waste and sewage are decomposed in the absence of oxygen to give bio-gas.It is also known as 'gobar gas'.Biogas is produced in a biogas plant. It is an excellent fuel as it contains up to75% of methane .It burns without smoke ,leaves no residue like ash in wood ,charcoal and coal burning.Its heating capacity is high.The slurry left behind in the biogas plant is also used as manure.
