1.People were asked not to cooperate          People were asked to break with the government.                                          colonial laws.  

2.Foreign goods were boycotted.                   Countrymen broke the salt law.                                                        

3.In many places,merchants and traders      Peasants refused to pay revenue

refused to trade on foreign goods.             and the chaukidari tax.

4.Students and teachers left government     Village officials resigned from

owned schools and colleges                          their jobs.
