Open unemployment is when a person has no job in hand and does not earn anything at all. Disguised unemployment, on the other hand, is mostly found in the unorganized sector where either work is not consistently available or too many people are employed for some work that does not require so many hands. This is the essential difference between open unemployment and disguised unemployment.

Answer:

Distinguish between open unemployment and disguised unemployment:

Open Unemployment:

1. When a country’s labour force does not get opportunities for adequate employment, this situation is called open unemployment.

2. This type of unemployment is generally found in the industrial sector of our country. This is also found among the landless agricultural labourers in rural areas.

Disguised unemployment:

1. This is a kind of unemployment in which there are people who are visibly employed but actually they don’t have full-time employment. In such a situation more people are engaged in a work than required.

2. This type of unemployment is generally found in an unorganized sector where either work is not constantly available or too many people are employed for the same work that does not require so many hands.
