OVERLAPPING- when some social difference overlaps with other differences. In this situation, when one kind of social difference becomes more imp. than the other and people belong to diff. communitis.
FOR EG.- in northern Ireland , classes nd religion overlap with each other
CROSSCUTTING DIFFERENCES- when social differences cut one another is called cross cutting difference.
FOR EG.- in Netherlands. class and religion tend to cutt cross each other and both promoted by the govt.
cross cutting social difference are easier to accommodate
