pesticides are used to kill the pest which causes damage to the crop.
weedicides are used to remove the weeds like wild plants which take many more of the nutrition from the soil as compared to main crops.

The difference between pesticides and weedicides is as follows -

  • Pesticides can be rodenticides, insecticides or fungicides and they are harmful to plants.
  • Example of pesticides is DDT, Boric acid etc.

  • Weedicides are compounds sprayed to kill unwanted plants.
  • Weedicides do not cause harm to plants.
  • Examples of weedicides are Naphthalene acetic acid, atrazine etc
