Petal is among the non-essential whorls of the flower .Petals are bright in colour and they basically attract insects for pollination, generally in a cross-pollinated flower.

Petaloid is the term given to he condition where perianth is non-green. perianth is the case when petals and sepals appear to be undiffrerentiated in a flower

Answer:

The difference between petals and petaloid sepals is given below.

Explanation:

  • The major distinction between petals and petaloid exists that petals are the true corolla of a flower whereas petaloid is the state of maintaining altered sepals corresponding to petals.

  • Petals and petaloid are two forms of corolla that appear in the flower of plants. Furthermore, the flowers with petals even have a different group of sepals while petaloid keep the tepals, the parts of flowers that cannot be categorized as either sepals or petals.

  • Petal exists the part of the flower which exists the non-essential whorls that are lustrously shaded to attract insects for the pollination process. Petaloid exists when the perianth exists non-green i.e. when petals and sepals seem to be undifferentiated. Petaloid exists comparing the petal of a flower.
