  • Metals are ductile ,malleable, luster,whereas nonmetals are not. The metals are generally present in the solid form at room temperature except mercury which is liquid at room temperature. Whereas non-metals may be solid, liquid and gaseous at room temperature.

  • Metals are dense, shiny, good conductors of heat and electricity, and easily lose electrons in chemical reactions. Nonmetals are not dense, dull, do not conduct heat and electricity, and tend to gain electrons.
