1. Political Parties contest elections but Pressure groups dont contest.
2. Political party is a group or associationof people formed with an aim to hold power in government but Pressure groups comprises people with common interests or aspirations etc
3. Political parties are accountable to people at large but Pressure groups are not.
4. Political parties have broad memberships while pressure groups have limited memebership
5. Political party is an formal institution while pressure groups are informal institution.

Examples- Trade unions , FIICI are pressure groups.
