reliability refers to the consistency of scores obtained by an individual on the same test in two different occasions.
the test reliability is of two types:-
(a) test re-test reliability:- it indicates the temporal stability or the stability of scores over a period of time.
(b) split-half reliability:- it indicates the degree of internal consistency of the test.
however, for a test to be usable it should be valid. validity refers to the question. does the test measure what is claims to measure?
