Land degradation is a process in which value of land is affected by human activities.

Land degradation is a broader definition which includes degradation due to pollution, wind erosion etc.

Soil erosion is a type of Land Degradation,where the upper surface of the soil degrades by several degradation agents (eg. Air,Water,Snow etc.)

Land Degradation is process where environment's biophysical characteristics changes due to both human activities and natural hazards.

To prevent soil erosion;

1) we should plant proper trees to maintain the ideal vegetation ratio

2)avoiding chemical pesticides and fertilizers

3)proper usage of soil resources

4)avoiding the dumping non-biodegradable waste materials
