Speed-It is the distance travelled by an object.It is a scalar quantity.It can never be negative or zero.Speed may or may not be equal to velocity.

Velocity-I is the distance covered by an object per unit time.
It is a vector quantity.It can be negative,zero.A body can have different velocity but have same speed.
