When a body covers equal distance in equal interval of time in a specific direction is said to have uniform velocity. For example, a car is moving in a straight line with a constant speed of 40km/h. Variable velocity: ... A velocity of a body becomes variable if either its magnitude changes or its direction changes.

If a body travels equal distance in equal interval of Time along a particular direction, then the body is said to be moving with uniform velocity . However, if a body travels unequal distance in particular direction in equal interval of time or it remains equal distance in equal interval of time but it's direction of motion doesn't remain same, then the velocity of the body is said to be variable ( or non uniform)
