Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies (e.g. lakes, rivers, oceans, aquifers and groundwater). This occurs when pollutants are directly or indirectly discharged into water bodies without adequate treatment to remove harmful compounds.Water pollution affects the entire biosphere – plants and organisms living in these bodies of water.
LAND POLLUTION is the deterioration (destruction) of the earth’s land surfaces, often directly or indirectly as a result of man’s activities and their misuse of land resources. It occurs when waste is not disposed off properly, or can occur when humans throw chemicals unto the soil in the form of pesticides.
