Distinguish between waves and tides​

Waves: Horizontal movement of water molecules at surface level.These occur because of winds(Trade winds, easterly winds etc). These actually do heat balance in oceans.

Tides: Vertical movement of water molecules. These occur due to gravitational pull of sun and moon.
