Dear Student,

◆ Cytokinesis Vs Karyokinesis -

  • Cytokinesis is division of cytoplasm while karyokinesis is division of nucleus.
  • Cytokinesis occurs at the end of M-phase while karyokinesis occurs at middle of M-phase.
  • Cytokinesis is dependent on karyokinesis while karyokinesis is independent of cytokinesis.
  • Cytokinesis is divided into four phases while karyokinesis is single stage.

Thanks dear. Hope this helps you...

Cytokinesis from Karyokinesis:

Cytokinesis is defined as division of a cell into two daughter cells. Karyokinesis is defined as division of nucleus into two different nucleus.

Cytokinesis is always preceded by Karyokinesis, but not all time Karyokinesis is followed by Cytokinesis.

In Karyokinesis, there is division of chromosomes into two divisions, after particular replication of the DNA. But, in Cytokinesis, there is a replication of nucleus along with different other organelles like ribosome, Golgi bodies, etc.
