Difference between n-butane and cyclo-butane:

n-butane:

  • n-butane is the isomer of butane.
  • It is the highly flammable hydrocarbon gas that is liquified through pressurization.
  • It is a colourless gas.
  • When there is plenty of oxygen, butane burns to form water vapour and carbon dioxide.
  • When oxygen is limited, carbon monoxide is formed.

Cyclobutane:

  • Cyclobutane is a derived form of butane.
  • It is a "simple alicyclic hydrocarbon"(C_{4} H_{8}), light inflammable gas.
  • Cyclobutane is a circular structure.
