Monsoon forest also called dry forest or tropical deciduous forest, open woodland in tropical areas that have a long dry season followed by a season of heavy rainfall. The trees in a monsoon forest usually shed their leaves during the dry season and come into leaf at the start of the rainy season.
Mangrove swamps are found in tropical and subtropical tidal areas. Areas, where mangroves occur, include estuaries and marine shorelines. However, a given mangrove swamp typically features only a small number of tree species.
Monsoon Forests:-
These type of forests are mostly widespread in India.
The trees of these type of forests requires rainfalls between 60cm-250cm.
Mean temperature required is around 27°c.
Humidity required is 50%-80%.
During dry season these type of trees shed their leaves.
During rainy season new leaves are grown.
