pencils for 1st child, 2nd child, and 3rd child= total pencils
1/2x + 1/3x + 1/4x = 13/12x
(13/12)x= 104
x= (104×12)/13
x= 96
1st child will get= 1/2 × 96= 48
2nd will get= 1/3 × 96= 32
3rd will get= 1/4 × 96= 24
To verify:-
Total no. of pencils= 48+32+24= 104
