QUESTION

Divide 150 into three parts such that the second number is five-sixths the first and the third number is four- fifths the second?

ANSWER

Total Number=150

Let First Part=x

Accoring to Question Second Part is \mathsf{\frac{5}{6}}the First.

Second Number=\mathsf{\frac{5x}{6}}

Third Number is =\mathsf{\frac{4}{5}} the second.

\mathsf{\frac{5x}{6}\times\frac{4}{5}}

Third Number=\mathsf{\frac{20x}{30}}

On adding We will get 150

A/Q

x + \frac{5x}{6} + \frac{20x}{30} = 150 \\ \\ \frac{30x + 5 \times 5x + 20x}{30} = 150 \\ \\ \frac{75x}{30} = 150 \\ \\ x = \frac{30}{\cancel{75}} \times \cancel{150 } \\ \\ x = 30 \times 2 \\ \\ x = 60

First Part=60

Second part=5/6×60

=50

Third Part=20/30×60

=40

\boxed{\mathbf{First \:Part=60}}

\boxed{\mathbf{Second \:Part=50}}

\boxed{\mathbf{Third \:Part=40}}
