Divide 184 into two parts such that 1/3rd ofone part exceeds 1/7th of the other part by 8. What are the two parts ?

let x,y be parts.....then according to condition......x+y=184-(1)
x/3=(y/7)+8-(2).........on solving 1 and 2 ......we get x=-180,y=364
