By Remainder Theorem,

x  = -1
________

2x
³ + 3x² + x + 5 = Remainder

2(-1)
³ + 3(-1)²  -1 + 5 = Remainder

-2 + 3 - 1 + 5 = Remainder

1 -1 + 5 = Remainder

5 = Remainder
