let the first part be x and 2nd part becomes 34 - x  --------------- (i)
Given, 4 upon 7 is equal to 2 upon 5, it can be written as
4/7(x ) = (34 - x )(2/5)
4x/7 + 2x/5 = 34 x 2/5 = 68/5
4x/7 = 68 - 2x/5
20x = 476 -14x
34x = 476
x = 476/34
x = 14.
on substituting x in equation (i) we get
= 34 - 14
= 20

Two parts are 14 and 20.

Hope this helps!

HELLO.......FRIEND!!

THE ANSWER IS HERE,

Let the first part contains x . Then the other part contains 34-x.

From the question,

 =  >  \:  \frac{4}{7} (x) =  \frac{2}{5} (34 - x)

 =  >  \:  \frac{4x}{7} \times  \frac{5}{2}   =34 - x

 =  >  \:  \frac{10x}{7}  = 34 - x

 =  >  \: x +  \frac{10x}{7}  = 34

 =  >  \:  \frac{17x}{7}  = 34

 =  >  \: x = 14

So, The first part contains 14 & other part contains 20.

:-)Hope it helps u.
