$\frac{4}{7} x = \frac{2}{5} y \\ x = \frac{7}{10} y \\ now \: put \: value \: of \: x \: in \: eq.1 \\ \\ \frac{7}{10} y + y = 34 \\ 17y = 340 \\ y = 20 \\ \\ so \: x \: will \: be \: equal \: to \\ \\ x = \frac{7}{10} y \\ x = \frac{7}{10} \times 20 \\ x = 14 \\ \\ x = 14 \: and \: y = 20$
