1 / 4 X = 3 / 8 Y
X = 3 / 2 Y
X + Y = 40
3 / 2 Y + Y = 40
5 Y / 2 = 40
5 Y = 80
Y = 16
one part = 16
Another part = 40 - 16 = 24 .
