Multiply both sides with 100

15x = 25( 4000 - x )

Divide both sides with 5, we get

3x = 5( 4000 - x )

3x = 20000 - 5x

3x + 5x = 20000

8x = 20000

x = 20000/8

x = 2500

Therefore ,

First part = x = 2500

Second part = 4000 - x

= 4000 - 2500

= 1500

4000 is divided into two parts 2500

and 1500
